Transfer Scholarships

TCU also recognizes and rewards outstanding transfer students with academic merit scholarships. These competitive awards are based primarily on the college GPA and personal qualities of the student. Family income has no bearing on who will be named an academic scholar.

The Application for Undergraduate Admissions also serves as the Application for Transfer Scholarships. Students must apply to the university by April 15th for the fall semester. The scholarships are awarded in mid June.

All TCU scholarships are competitive; candidates must present the following minimums for scholarship consideration (meeting minimums does not guarantee selection):

  • Cumulative college GPA of 3.25
  • Optional teacher evaluation
  • At least 27 hours of transferable course work by June 1
  • Excellent writing sample (essay)
  • Outstanding personal qualities
  • Outside activities or work experience

Renewal is based on the successful completion of at least 27 hours of "letter grade" course work during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). A TCU cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required at the conclusion of each spring semester.
