Religious Affiliated Grants

TCU offers several grant programs reflecting the relationship of the university to the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Contact the TCU Financial Aid Office for applications for these programs.

 

BEASLEY FOUNDATION GRANT

Amount: Awards vary, generally between $1,000 and $5,500, but may go higher.

Eligibility: Students who are members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and who have financial eligibility are considered for participation in this program. The results of the FAFSA, high school grade point average, class rank, and SAT/ACT scores are reviewed. The award is based upon the quality of the entire applicant pool. Renewal is based upon the results of the FAFSA, completion of at least 24 hours annually, and a minimum TCU cumulative GPA of 2.5. No separate application is required. You will be considered for this award if you indicated Disciples of Christ as your religion of preference on your TCU Admissions Application. If you are awarded the Beasley Grant you will be asked to provide verification of membership in the Disciples of Christ Church.

MINISTER'S DEPENDENT GRANT

Amount: Awards are for half tuition for up to 18 hours per semester.

Eligibility: Full-time students who are unmarried, dependent children of full-time Christian Church ministers in active service; spouses of full-time Christian ministers; youths of the Juliette Fowler home; unmarried, dependent children of employees of the Juliete Fowler home; and spouses of full-time students of Brite Divinity School. Renewal is based upon maintenance of satisfactory academic progress. Applications may be obtained in the TCU Financial Aid Office or by clicking the following link:

CHRISTIAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GRANT

Amount: Awards are for half tuition for up to 18 hours per semester.

Eligibility: Students who were regional officers of the Christian Youth Fellowship are considered for these awards. Renewal is based upon the results of the FAFSA, completion of at least 24 hours annually, and a minimum TCU cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applications may be obtained in the TCU Financial Aid Office or by clicking the following link:

CHURCH VOCATION CONDITIONAL LOAN PROGRAM

Amount: Awards are for half tuition for up to 18 hours per semester.

Eligibility: Students, regardless of denomination, preparing for a full-time career in ministry are considered for these awards. Recipients must annually recertify their intention to enter a full-time career in the ministry and present evidence of progress towards that goal. Students are required to major or minor in Religion or major in church music. Applications may be obtained from the TCU Financial Aid Office. Recipients must sign a promissory note which indicates that should circumstances change and they not enter a full-time career in ministry, this award must be repaid to TCU as a loan with interest of 6%. Renewal is based upon completion of at least 24 hours annually and a minimum TCU cumulative GPA of 2.5. Church Vocation Grant/Loan Application

THE BERMONT FAMILY UNDERGRADUATE JEWISH STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: Varies

Eligibility: Undergraduate sons or daughters of religious leaders of the Jewish faith are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to student applicants who demonstrate financial need as evidenced by the FAFSA. Applications may be obtained in the TCU Financial Aid Office.
