Loan Options

Stafford Loans- 6.0% (Subsidized) or 6.8% (Unsubsidized) fixed simple interest. New interest rates will be announced in June. Repayment begins 6 months after the date the student is no longer enrolled at least 1/2 time, or graduates. Visit our Stafford Loan Information webpage for more info.

The College Access Loan (CAL)-This program provides low-interest loans to Texas residents who need assistance in paying for their education. The current fixed interest rate is 6%. For more information or to complete your application, please visit www.hhloans.com. Please note, CAL loans take at least 4-5 weeks to process. You may check the status of your loan by calling the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board at 1-800-242-3062. Visit our CAL Information webpage for more info.

Private Loans- For more information regarding private loans, please visit our private loan webpage. You may choose any lender to fund a private loan. TCU's recommended lenders are listed at the bottom of the page.

Education Loan Amounts

Stafford Loans: Independent students will receive $12,500 for summer 2009 - spring 2010 and $5729 for summer 2009; Dependent students will receive $7500 for the same period
College Access Loans: Texas residents will be offered $13,910 for summer 2009 (must complete one application for summer loan), $12,000 for fall 2009-spring 2010 (must complete separate app for fall/spring), and approximately $10,478 for summer 2010
